Account & data deletion

Cliick is designed to be privacy-first. If you want to delete your account, you can do it directly in the app (self-serve and push-button).

This page covers both account deletion and data deletion.

Cliick does not collect contact info like email addresses or phone numbers.

Delete your account (in the app)

Account deletion is performed inside the Cliick app by the signed-in user.

  1. Open the Cliick app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select Delete Account
  4. Confirm deletion

Why it works this way: deletion requires access to the app so we can verify you’re signed in. This protects your privacy and helps prevent unauthorized deletion requests.

What gets deleted when you delete your account

  • Your authentication record is permanently deleted (OAuth association removed; signing in again creates a new, separate account).
  • Your memberships in all Cliicks are removed.
  • All Cliicks you own are deleted, including their memberships, posts, post media, and comments.
  • Your profile name and profile image are removed.
  • Invites, requests, and other connection artifacts associated with your account are deleted.

Residual encrypted backups are retained for a limited time and are automatically purged within 30 days.

What may remain

In some cases, content can remain in groups owned by other people.

This is shared group content and it may remain to preserve that group’s history, but it becomes de-identified after account deletion (no profile, name, or account linkage).

  • Posts or comments you created in Cliicks owned by other users may remain if you did not delete them before deleting your account.
  • After account deletion, this content is no longer associated with your identity (no profile, name, or account linkage).

Delete specific content without deleting your account

If you just want to clean things up (without deleting your whole account), you can do any of the following at any time in the app:

  • Delete posts you created
  • Delete comments you created
  • Leave a Cliick
  • Delete a Cliick you own

Need help?

Account deletion is self-serve and requires being signed in inside the app.

If you can’t access the app, contact support@cliick.com or visit the Support page. Because Cliick uses Apple and Google sign-in and doesn’t use email-based accounts, we can’t take deletion requests from an email alone. We can help you try to regain access so you can delete your account from inside the app.

If account access can’t be recovered through your sign-in provider, deletion may not be possible.
